Franklin, Tenn.-based Wipro Gallagher Solutions (WGS), a provider of end-to-end lending solutions for financial institutions,
announced the results of scalability testing of its loan origination system (LOS), NetOxygen, at levels of 10,000 to 20,000 users. Tests were conducted by The Tolly Group, a global provider of third-party validation services for vendors of IT products, components and services, based in Boca Raton, Fla. The testing demonstrated that NetOxygen provides a fully scalable n-tier solution designed to take advantage of both horizontal and vertical scalability options. The NetOxygen platform underwent extensive stress tests supporting 20,000 users originating more than 3,000 loans hourly.
The purpose of the testing was to validate the ability of NetOxygen to support large multi-channel, multi-product implementations, emphasize the full-featured end-to-end loan origination functionality from lead management to post closing and demonstrate key transaction volumes to emphasize scalability.
The test database was pre-populated with more than half a million loans to simulate the size of a typical large lender. At 20,000 user load levels, more than 34,000 pricing-related transactions occurred during peak hours and more than 17,000 document packages (initial disclosure packages, closing packages, etc.) were created. Average response times remained flat throughout peak at both 10,000 and 20,000 user load levels. The test also found that WGS' NetOxygen delivers an average screen transition response time of 1.32 seconds when using Oracle and 1.05 seconds when using Microsoft SQL Server.
Such short screen response times are possible because NetOxygen's service-based architecture enables multiple worker processes to maximize utilization of available server CPU and memory resources, and its load balancing capabilities enable any number of servers to be added at each tier to accommodate any required load levels.
By processing various loan types, including conventional, FHA and VA, and testing against SQL Server and Oracle database implementations, the testing also validated that NetOxygen does deliver full-featured end-to-end loan origination functionality from lead management to post closing. A variety of interface transactions such as AUS, flood, document and compliance interfaces were also specifically included in tests.
"One of the top concerns among banks and mortgage companies today is how to seek higher loan quality and reduce their overall cost to originate," said Kevin Tolly, president of Tolly Group. "Our testing found that WGS' NetOxygen provides full loan management and origination functionality with fast processing times, even at high user loads. The architecture allows for scaling both horizontally and vertically."
"We conducted a third-party review of our NetOxygen platform to provide a level of assurance to clients and prospective clients on the validity and integrity of our platform and to demonstrate its scalability at levels which exceed the needs of the nation's largest lenders," said Narayan Bharadwaj, business head for WGS. "Being one of few companies to put our product through these stringent tests is evidence that WGS is dedicated to providing our customers with a trusted scalable solution capable of improving the overall lending experience."
